Norris Lake

We just returned from a week at Norris Lake in Tennessee. The kids had a blast tubing behind the boat and seadoo. This was the first year I allowed them to go by themselves. Thankfully, all went well. Xavier loved being in the water, jumping off the dock, and fishing. Brooklyn was happy riding in the boat and fishing off the dock. She wasn't too thrilled about getting in the water. The weather was warm, but not hot. That made riding in the boat while wet less than toasty. Isaac did NOT like the life jacket. While riding in the boat he was either sleeping or screaming at the top of his lungs. He spent most of his time in the lake house or in an inflatable raft on the dock. Andy and I were able to try wake surfing. It was fun! Andy had more success than I did. I spent most of my time sinking the front of the board and landing face first in the water.

We missed out on the usual July 4th fireworks and s'mores(due to rain) but we made the most of it. We microwaved the smores until they were a huge gooey mess and promised the kids we'll get out the sparklers before Christmas. Thanks to the Murphys for sharing their beautiful house and to Jen and Dave for sharing their SUPER COOL boat with us. We're already looking forward to next year!
